Video Release: Talk Event for the Art Book Publication Commemorative Solo Exhibition “SKIPPED SECOND” by 1 Second Angel 9

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, we held a talk event commemorating 1 Second Angel 9’s solo exhibition “SKIPPED SECOND,” both in person at the gallery and simultaneously streamed via Instagram Live. We would like to once again express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and to those who joined us online.

We invited a guest speaker Takaya Sakagawa, the artist’s manager, who supports her practice. He spoke on a wide range of topics, including the artist’s creative process, the background leading to the publication of the art book, and insights into the works on view. We cordially invite you to view the event video (available in Japanese only).

Speaker
Takaya Sakagawa
Manager of 1 Second Angel 9
After studying fine art and aspiring to pursue a career in artistic expression, Sakagawa gained experience in the professional world before returning to the creative field.
Upon encountering 1 Second Angel 9 through social media, he developed a deep sense of resonance with the work and has since been supporting the artist as their manager.

Sho Satake
Director, Sho+1
Born in Tokyo in 1959, Sho Satake studied at the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley, before graduating from the Department of Art, School of the Arts and Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
In 1984, he founded Galerie Sho Contemporary Art, the predecessor of Galerie Sho+1 Office.
For over four decades since then, he has specialized in the works of California-based artists as well as leading figures of the 1980s New York art scene, including Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
In the 1990s, as an art gallery, he was among the first in the world to initiate original photography projects with Helmut Newton, and went on to develop numerous collaborative projects with European photographers.
Guided by the principle of “balance and harmony” as the foundation of his gallery practice, he continues to present distinctive and unique exhibitions.

1 Second Angel 9 Profile
An enigmatic artist. The creative practice explores elusive sensations, subtle presences, divine messengers and revelations, conspiracy and chaos, as well as redemption. The works awaken profound emotions in the viewer and guide them into a realm of reversible reality.
