Robert Longo was born in Brookyn, New York in 1953. His most remarkable piece of art is recognizable as “Men in The Cities” series which depict, with his sharp observation, the momentary movement of human body as if it incurs electronic shocks. Moreover, he continues to release variety of works in the form of drawings, combined art, motion pictures, video performances, music to dispatch overpowering messages to today’s social issues. His tactics in production are consistent by borrowing the image and form from society in general and throwing back them to where they are originated. His artistic approach fits into critical appropriation methods.
